About Little Trees

In 1952, a milk-truck driver complained to Julius Sämann about the smell of spilled milk in his truck. Sämann, who had spent years extracting aromatic oils in the pine forests of Canada, combined exceptional fragrances with specialized blotter material and invented the first car air freshener.

He shaped it like an evergreen tree in honor of his work in the forests. Orders started rolling in from across the United States and the little Tree quickly gained a strong international following.

The original fragrances — Royal Pine, Spice and Bouquet — have grown into a collection that includes Caribbean Colada, Vanillaroma, New Car Scent and Black Ice, and the Tree has been joined by Vent Wrap, Spray and Fiber Can.

Little Trees are still made in Watertown, New York and DeWitt, Iowa, with rigorous testing and quality control behind every product.
